Frank Capra

I don't know if you know who Frank Capra is, but if you don’t or if you have not seen his work then I think that you are missing out. In the first three years of my mathematics degree I was spending considerable amount of time in the university library. One day I discovered the film section but there were predominantly old films, so I was slightly disappointed and ignored it for the next few months. It happened that one day I was passing by and saw a tape of the old comedy “Bachelor Mother” with Ginger Rogers. So I put it on my mind to watch that film. On the next Friday evening as by the law the Sabbath is a day for rest, I went back and watched it. This was the beginning of me watching 1 -2 old films every Friday evening for the next 2.5-3 years. While I was concentrating mostly on watching comedies, disturbing the whole south wing of the third floor :), I also discovered Frank Capra. Here I would like to include a few films from him. Although they are not necessarily comedies and not necessarily all of his films worth seeing, these are the ones that I came across on YouTube and thought that will be a good idea to place here. I hope you enjoy the films and take something good from them with you as I did.
It's a Wonderful Life (1946) (Colorized Version *HD*)

This film is a wonderful work that shows the true riches in life. Inspiring and uplifting.

Mr. Smith goes to Washington (1939)

Corruption is always here, but is a few honest people are the ones who make the change for good.

You Can't Take It With You (1938)

This film is a way more than just a comedy.

It Happened One Night (1934)

Again, this film is a way more than just a comedy.

Lost Horizon (1937)

This film is one of the best films that I have ever seen. Regretfully I found only this little episode on YouTube, so I hope that you will be able to watch the original from 1937. The film is saturated with wisdom and insights.
